BRIDE WEARS GOWN OF PARCHMENT SATIN
COOMBE— ASH A' wedding of interest to many friends in Havelock North and Hastings was solemnised at St. David 's Presbyterian Church, Petone, recently when Ethel Jean, daughter of Mr and Mfs J, A. Asli, of Petone, was xnarried to Arthur Norman^ son of Mr H. Coombe and the late Mrs Coombe, "Belmont," Havelock North. The Eev. 0 Mr Loan officiated at the ceremony, and Mr W. Breea presi.de.d at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of parchment satin with a spray of lily-of-the-valley at the V neck, puffed sleeves fitting at the wrist' and a traine.d skijt. Her ivory embroidered tulle veil was arranged with a coronet of lily-of-the-valley and she' carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bridesmaids were the Misses Ida' Coombe (chief), sister of the bride- . groom^ and Kosalind Lloyd, both of Havelock North. They wore trained gowns of Nile green embossed matelasse featuring a high pointed neckline finished with an oval green and gold brooch, puffed sleeves and a half sash at the waist. Each maid wore a tulle cap with halo of silver leaves and scalloped eye-veil. They wore isilver shoes and carried bouquets of xosebuds and fern. Their gifts from the bridegroom were crystal necklaces and earxings. Two little cousins of the bride wero flowergirls, and they wore long frocks of pink sprigged organdie with kilted Peter Pan collars. Bandeaux of pink flowsm and leaves were worn, and each carried a pink carnation posy. Each little maid was given a gold brooch by the bridegroom. Mr Gordon Coomb.e, the bridegroom 's brother, was best man, and Mr James Ash, brother of the bride, groomsman. Messrs Kobert Ash and Gordon Pescini vFere the ushers. At the wedding xeception about 100 guestis, inclading many relatives from other parts, were entertained by the . bri.de 's parents. The wedding breakfast was a very happy oue, with several toaste, and the wedding cake was cut by the bride,Mrs J. A. Ath wore a green and black ensemble with black hat and aceessories, and carried a posy of anemones and f-ern. Mrs Harry Coombe, Seatoun, the bridegroom 's aunt, wore a reseda green suit with satin blouse and green aceessories. She carried a posy of rosebngs. When the bride and bridegroom left for thei'r honeymoon the bride travelled in a beige linen jumper suit relieved with brown, and a brown. hat and aceessories. Mr and Mrs A. N. Coombe will reside at Khandallah.
