Havelock North Opening Carnival RESULTS OF EVENTS Despite a rather cool breeze making conditions unpleasant for the swimmersf there was a good attendance at theopening carnival of the Havelock J^orth fcjwimming Club held in the Havelock Norths baths on Wednesday .evening. The new lighting arrangements were favourably commented upon by swimmers and the public. The Domain pavilion which is being erected at the back of, and adjoin. the baths, will be a decided asset, as it is construeted to provide additional dressing accommodation and showers for tlie use of batliers. In order to assist in providing the necessary funds to complete this building the swimmmg club is holding a benefit carnival during the first week in Deaember. The following are the result's of the events held at the opening carnival; — Junior boys' 25 yards: D. Eyles 1, M. ' Liley 2, T. McOracken 3. Junior girls ' 25 yards: M. Hardmg 1, M. de Montalk 2, J. Gardner 3. School teams race: Std. 6tl, Std. 5 2, Std. 4 3. Interinediate boys' 50 yards: R: Estaugh 1, C. Fergusson 2, I. Duncan 3. Senior men's 50 yards: H. Christie (2wees.) 1, A. Joll (3) 2, A. Christie(3) 3. A fine race, won by a touch with a touch separating second and tliird. Tinie,( 27 4-5secs. * Learneis' diving: C. Hill 1, G. Ogg 2, C. Ogg 3. Novelty kigk junip: T. McCracken 1.
