' Miss Butk Herrick, Chief Commisaionex for .New Zealand, was present, mad also Miss Elsie Willlams, pxovincial commissionex for Hawkes Bay; Mrs W. Richmond, konoxary Dominion treasurer; Miss M. Hes, Dominion secretary; and -tke following memkers of tke coun'cil: Mrs W. G. Stead, Miss K. F. Rixon, Mts F. D. Herrick, Mrs G. A. Maddison, Mrs Axcker Absolom, Miss Nita McHardy, Miss J. Dutkie (Heretaunga), Mrs D. J. Riggix (xepresenting tke Women 's Institutes), Mrs W. Neilson, Mrs L. Balfour (provincial commissionex for Po'verty Bay). Mifes Herrick opened tke meeting by extending a welcome to Lady Galway, wko, in reply, expressed pleasure at being akle to attend. Lady Galway, in a krief aadress commented on tke outstanding events of tke year in connection witk tke Gixl Gnides. Ske spoke about tke Gnides' Coxonation massage to Tkeir Majesties, Mng George and Queen Elizabeth, and said tkat wken in London ske keaTd wkat great pleasure tke scroll gave tke King and Queen, and kow Tery interested tkey were in it. Lady Galway also mentioned wkat a splendid idea it was to send a Guide from New Zealand to tke International "Gamp wMck was keld recently in New York. Ske also spoke of tke generosity of Dr. and Miss Elinslie, wko kad recently given a permanent camp site, Annat, for Guide use. • Tke " annual report and balance-skeet were presented and adopted. Tke Dominion esecutive for tke coming year is as follows: Mrs W. Bick* * mond, Mrs Arcker Absolom, Mrs Eric Nelson, Mrs W. Neilson, Mrs J. C. Bollcston, llrs'Adam Bell, Miss E. Hoky. Miss Herrick spoke akout tke great need for Guiders, and expressed tke wisk tkat young people witk leisure wonld kelp by kecoming Guiders. Ske said tkat it was koped to kave a centenary camp for 1000 Gnides in 1940, and tka,t tko nnmbers could be swelled If sekool teaekers wonld co-operate and kave more Gnides at sckools. Miss Joyce DutMe, wko, witk Miss Nita McHardy and Miss Bergin, were " sent by .tko Dominion exeeutivo to every province in New Zealand to assist in tke training of Guidcs, expressed appreciation for tke opporlunity afforded tkem.
