Dispute Before Conciliation

WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand Federated Paint and Vurnish Employees' dispute was heafd in the Conciliation Council today. A 40-h6ur week is agreed to by the Cmployers, but they seek a 7.30 start With at least three-quarters of an hour for ihe&is. The men seek wages of £6 10/- down to £5 5/- for shaders in the paint department, and £6 10/to £5 10/- in tho varnish department, employees engaged in lead corroding to be paid £7. The wages ofl'ci'ed are £5 for leading hands, £4 16/- for shaders, and £4 5/for othcr adult malcr.
