WELLINGTON, This Day. Authority for the borrowing of £6, 000,000 for various public works is given in the Finance Bill intnoduced in the House of, Eepresentatives last nlght. The money is to be raised for the following purposes:— Construction of railways and additions to open linesj additional Tolling stock and other railway works; telegraph extensions construction and improvement oi roads, tracks and .bridges, for the purIjose of improving access and development; the construction of irrigation works; erection of public buildings, including schools; and other publib works, including administrative charges. In addition to the amount of £6,000, 0Q0, the Government is authorised by the Bill to borrow £2,000,000 for the construction of maia highways.
