Flying-Ofncer Olouston reached Johannesburg at 2.8 p.m. Greenwich mean time in the record time of 40 hours 13 minutes, beating Scott and Guthrie 's tiine in last year's air race. Flying-Officer Clonston arrived at Capetown at 8.55 p.ni. He hettered Amy Mollison's record by 1 day 8 hours 55 minutes.
