Difficulty in Obtaining Men
(By Teleersph-
"WELLINGTON, This Day. The difficulty experienced in obtaining the services of qualified veterinarians was mentioned. by the Ministei of Agriculture, Hon. ' W. Lee Martin, during the debate on the Estimates in the House of Representatives yesterday. Replying to Mr J. A. McL. Roy (Opposition, Clutha), who had expressed the opinion that, there were not suffi cient veterinary surgeons in New Zealand, the Minister said the shortage of veterinarians was causing the d°opartment much concern. "We realise that we have not the requisite number of veterinarians for the Dominion.'» said the Minister. "The position is that we cannot get them, although we are offering a fair remuneration. We have a nuumber of students taking veterinary. courses at the Sydney University and Home colleges. These men should be qualified in a year or so, and their services will then be available to the producers of the Dominion "
