•'IOP OP.TSB TOWN." The newept thing in sereen* musicals, Universal's "Top of the Town," comes to the Waipukurau Theatr6 tornight (Tuesday). The offering hits a high note, stressing swing music, varied types of comedy developed by ten different comedians and a dancing, singing chorus that captures' the eye and ear. Doris Nolan, new scxeen find who seored on the stage. in "Niglit of January 16th," plays the feminine lead. George Murphy, successful in the New York stage plays, "Of Thee I Sing" and "Roberta," as well as several screen off eringa, has the leading male role. Gertrude Niesen, exotic star of the Ziegfeld Follies, nationally known beeause of her radio singing, is prominently cast and sings some new appealing lyrics. Ella Logan, popular radio singer of tunes that "go to town," sends notes hur^ling over musie bar* with gay abandon. Each of 'the ten comedians in "Top oi the Town" has a brand of humour all his own. The comics include Hugh Herbert, Gregory Ratoff Henry Armetta, Miseha Auer, and the Three Sailors who answer tb the names of Jason, Robson anil Blue. "LLOYDS OF LONDON-" On Friday next "Lloyds of Lon.d.on" will be ^resented.
