ATTRACTIVE EXHIBITION
The Pakowhai Church Hall presentecl a very colourful and interesting picture, when large numbers of the public assembled to view the Pakowhai "Women's Institute's first flower show, whieh was a yery attractivo one. ■ The president, Mrs Whittington, cominented on the great amount of work put in by menibers in preparing for and staging exhibits and was plcased to see .outsidb entries also. Mrs C. J. Baker complimented the instifcute on its progressive spirit, and said institute flower shows were beeoming, not sniall, but quite big and mucti-looked-forward to events. The speaker had niuch pleasure in declaring the show open', and was sure it.would be a success. Vhridus competitions were entorcd into during the show, tho prize-winners being as follows: — -Eressad doll, Kr? Lowe; box of mushrpoms, Mrs Miteaell; bed jacket, Mr J. Hogan; iced aake Mrs Moon; nail driving, Mrs Hunt, Korokipo; dressed' doll, Mrs C. Bruntpn; supper clpth, Master Gpdfrey. Speeial thanks are due to those whr. donated prizes and goods for the stalls.
