Once peace is restored, he desires good relations with

all Fowers without Joining any bloo or politieal axis. He will certainly remember sentimentally those nations aiding him, but sincerely desires a rapprochement with England and France. Nationalist Spain supports the status quo in the Mediterraneah, , and will not toierate any direct or 1 indirect foreign participation in Spanish affairs or in the BalearicS, will never enter any conflict directed against France and Britain, and will never contribute in any way to steps menacing their interests in the Mediterranean. General Franco, deepite the foreign aid he has accepted to crush the extremists, will never mortgage the national patrimony, He no ionger needs foreign troops. and is prepared to let them return and wiU reeeive no further aid ftom abroad, provided that the * same conditions appiy to the Barcelona Government. The Government of the new regime will not .be p&rliamentary. It is possible that the youngest son of ex-King A.lfonso will be eiithroned. A civil Cabinet is already in the process of formation, New Spain will not be hostile to the League of Nations and will not toierate interference with its colonial empire,
