WINTER SUITS PREDOMINATE AT NAPIER PARK RACES
Although weather conditions were not of the best on Saturday afternoon. there was a good attendance at the Greenmeadows raeecourse for the 1937 spring meeting of the Napier Park Racing Club. Showery and overcast, the • day did not permit colourful spring frocks and hats to-be- worn by the many ladies present, and coata. and costumes with small felt hats were favoured ;.by the majority. Miss Ivy Fippard, who was wearmg a sinart grey tailored suit with a navy taffeta blouse and a navy hat of baku straw, was tho recipient of many cougratulaiions during the afternoon. tins being the first meeting of the club since her appointmeut as its secretary. Noticed on the lawn were: — Mrs Cecil Louisson, wearing a model eoat of.navy velour with silver fox furs and a navy i velour hat. Mrs ,G- D. Beatson, black tailored costumo and small black felt hat. Mrs E; Nelson, suit of light grey and small black' straw hat with upturned briin. ' Mrs G: Haldane, coat of nut brov/n velour and breton sallor hat of brown straw. Mrs J. Tod (Waipukurau), navy tailored suit" and smart navy toque. Mr W. Humphries, brown musquash coat with smart navy hat. Mrs .T. Mason, iitting coat of navy md white diagonal weavo, smart navy poque linished with navy quill. Mrs J. Lowiy, navy frock spotted in white. navy velour hat and wine silk rain coat.
