AUCKLAND, Last Night When two men were sentenced to imprisonment at the Police Court to-day for sly-grog selling, counsel for one suggestcd that some of the men behind the sly-gi'Og shops were what were know 11 in America as "big shots." • John Sidney Oonnack was sentenced to two months, the police stating that (Jormaek was last week fined £40 In respect of gaming charges arising out of a police raid in the city. James Ma-cAndrew was sentenced to seven days on a charge of sly grog selling. Patricia Leckie, a barmaid, on ft charge of aiding and abetting, wa# fined £3.
