The direetors.pf the Australasian Temperance and General Mutual Life Assurance Society report that the new business completed during the financial year ended Septomber 30th, 1937, was as follows: In the ordinary department 35,201 pojicies assuring £10,317,242 aud in the industrial department 149,467 policics assuring £6,611,804, the total life business issued (excluding re-assurauces) being 184,668 policies essuriug £16,929,046. In addition, in the accident department there wero wriiten 24,558 personal, accident aud sickness policies for £6,952,671, and 8,860 policies in the ordinary department were endorsed with accident benefits for £1.812.534.
