AUCKLAND, Nov. 18. When confronted with four eharges of false pretences in the Police Court, to-day, William Mopdy, a married man with one child, had nothing to say. The prosecuting officer said that from Mareh to August of this. year Moody obtained casual work on the waterfront and declared his earnings nil continuously. Of seventeen false declarations fourteen resulted in excess paynjepts of £23, whiie nine of the false declarations were made after fbe Magistrate 's warning in May. Mr. Orr Walker said that if there were any more of these deliberate cases he would consider sending the eharges to the Supreme Court. He sentenced Moody to one month 's imprisonment on each of two eharges, and fined hini £12 10s on the other two eharges,
