British Groups Aid Occupational Clubs
LONDON — More than 170 occupational clubs for jobless have npw been. "adopted" by stalfs of Government departments, business houses, banks and prosperous towns, it is revealcd by the National Council for Social Service. "This movement has reached such proportions," the council declares, "that it must be looked 0u as one of the most significant eft'orts by the community to fight the sdcial evils of nnemployment." Although more persons "return to jobs in Britain each month, the jobless problem is still a large one- and the occupational club . plays a great part . in assisting jobless to keep their hands in and their .self-respect up. By adopting clubs, the associations of better placed citizens insure that there shall be a steady income and room for development. •-
