WAIPUKURAU." Lagt Night, An announcement that tho Fnipjgynient Department hjid agreed to increaSo its 50 per cent. subsidy of the labour cost for tho •building of t)je publjc swimming baths at Waipukurau to 75 per cent. was made by Mr H. M. Christie^ M-B, for tho Waipawa electorqte, during a brief visit to Waipukurau last night, Mr Christie added that he wa's negotiating xvith the Public Works Depai'tment to obtain the services of a mai) to supervise the work of erecting the baths. The increase in subsidy is the result of representations made tlirough Mr Christie by the Waipukurau Swimming Baths Associatiou.
