"With these words Dr. Wlnntngton Ingram, who is a bachelor in his 80th yetr, revealed to the London Diocesan Cpnferencs at the Central Hall, Westminster, that he Is about to retlre. When the conference was over he said: "It will be almost llke cutting off my right hand. It is not that I am tired of the .work;" Indeed, I ldve lt more every year. "No more is lt that I am failing In physlcal or mental vlgour," Dr. ,Ihgram explained; "It is 'simply that lt isi only fair for an old man to mdke way for a younger man,' and probably better for . the dlocese to have a charige." His Ambltlon. Girls' Diocesan Assoclatlon. — A flne typo of young woman attends our meetings. The .work they do afterwards ln a slncere and cheerful way has become a tremendous influence for good. The Growth of London. — The Church can hardly keep pace with it. That is why I look forward to another year ' or two in offlce. It is my ambition to hand over Ihe dlocese in a healthy flnancial condition,. and I hope that a new organisation, The Friends of London, will be able to raise £10,000 which we reauire for church-bullding.
