MEETING OF SHERENDEN BRANCH OF W.D.F.U.
" The Novemher meeting of the Sherenden branch of the' Women' s Division of the Farmers' Union was held at Mrs. L. Nelson's home, Whakamarumaru, on Thursday, Mrs. H. Beamish presiding over a good attendance of members. " Apologies' were received from Mesdames Sh'ield, E. Beamish, N. Beamish and Hildreth. The ' president introduced three 'visitors, from Hastings, Mesdames Honeybun, O. Clark "and Joll. ' ' ' '
Final ^arrangements were made for ihe Sherenden flower'show. .which is to be lield.in fhe Sherenden Hall on November , 25. A sirpng committee is working to ; ensu're this being - a great suceess. Details of the annual garden fete to be held at Whanawhana oh December 11 were ;also discussed, and it was decidecl to have sweets, produce and Christ'mas nov'elty stalls, tennis, and golf competitions. ' Mrs, D. Olprk gave an interesting and 'instructiye demonstration on ,the making . of a - wedding bouquet. This especially interested members .'as th'ey are keenly interested in the decorative. section 0f .the.flower-show. Mrs. Clark was accorded a hearty vote of thanis. At - the conclusion :of , her demonstration Mrs. Clark presented '.the fiiiished bouquets' to the president and hostess. A delicious afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Butt, Hyslop,.'Tressider and: Udy; ■ ... ' ; ' " Mris. -Honeybun * gave an interesting talk on . how the i division was first founded.. .
