AUCKLAND, Last Night. As a result of the Government's attitude loward the restoration of wqges in the Defence Service, ftve .of the 34 gunncrs stationed at. the -Narrow Neck Barracks of tbe*Royal New Zealand Artillery- have resigned from -the service to enter other walks of life. Four left last Thursday and the other on Saturday'-in spite of an appeal by Major Parkinson, offiqer . in commahd of the depot, to wait until the .Government 's plan was made- known. Among the remaining gunners there, is a strong feeling of discontent at thepresent position.
