Bright Entertainmerit at Municipal Theatre MISS McKEEGAN'S PUPILS

Oleyerly tliought-out dances and attractive frocking were the two main features of the "Kiddies' Revue" presented by the pupils of Miss Billie McKeegan in the Hastings Municipal Theatre last evening, the theatre being filled with a most appreciative audience. A variety of dances made up the programme inclyding tap dancing, National dances, operatic work, skipping dances and a number of delightful story ballets. Several items were als> given. The programme opened with operatic exercises at the bar, and the class gave evidence of careful and thorough trainfng, the results of which . showed in quite a number of the dances which toJiowed. Among the National dances was an irish jig whichtwas heartily applauded, and those taking part looked attractive in • their rather unusual costumes, the giri-s being- in flowEred f rocks jvith green sashes and white liats, and tho boys wore green waistcoat* «nni ties with white shirts and brown trousers. A very clever Bussian dua was well danced and the colour- of the RussiaD costumes added, to the appearance of the dance. Among the story ballets were several that were. much enjoyed. A children's dream ballet wa# ■ cleverly danced and a -butterfly- ballet was dainty, the little pupils who took part wearing gold suits with - black -wings, beaut-ifully painted.wfith -gold and scarlet. Pretty frocks were. also worn in che crinoline dance, while the flower garden ballet was charmingly danced by tiny daffodils, violets and mignonette, a poppy and a rose. Several other story dances were included on the programme, the doll's wedding and the candy kid's store being -much 'enjoyed. THe tap-ctancing was splendid and particular mention must be made of the . speciality tap , cleverly : danced by the ; Miss.es Aileen.and Lorna McKeegan, who had ,to respond to a hearty encOre. Another iteta which was much appla|ided was the skipping duo. Items were given during the programme by Miss Lorna McKeegan (v'ocal solos), Ngaire Hastings (iecita'tions)^ and Master Alfred MacDonald (accordeon solos). The - finale' was a bright number, danced by all "the pupils, who made a gay appearance' in -frocks of stiffened net in many different shades, scattered .with tiny flowers. ' At the conclusion Mr A. Tong made a presentation to Miss McKeegan from Che -mothers of the pupils. " . -The music for the dancing was play«d by Mr L.
