WOMEN JURORS, REFUSE TO TRY INDECENCY CASE
(Eeceived 9, 1.50 p.m.)' LONDON, Nov. 8. ' Women jurors made llegal history by refiusing to serve in a case of indecency at Paisley. The Sheriff, Mr Hamilton, said: 4 'A considerable years ago women made what I venture to describe as a great fuss for the vCry purpose of Tjeing allowed to do this sort of thing and not "being set aside from this sort of •work as if there were a distinetion in the intelligence of men and women. But by refusing to do what 20 years ago they were so anxious to do we are Teft in the position of being unable to try this man. Witnesses and counsel wili have to cooue back.' ' He ordered an adjoumment and the suramoning of a new jury.
