ENGLAND'S ROWING EIGHT
LONDOIT. Nov. 8. Despite the non-inclusion of university rowers, whom it was impossible to invite owing to their boat race, England's Empire Games eight is regarded as the best seen in England for seven years. The positions of the crew are: J. F. Burrough (Thames, bow), E. C. Harman (Thames), D. C. Kingsford (Leander), J. Turnbull (Cambridge)., P. H. Jackson (London), J. N. Sturrock (captain, Leander), E. Hambridge (London), B. S. Beasely (London, stroke), T. Eeeve (London, eox). The average weight is half a pound under 13st. Hambridge' and Turnbull are Australians. Mr J. Beresford, the coach, thinks that the crew is greatly superior to the London combination which was successful at the Melbourne centenary. The crew will take a new type of boat hitherto not seen in Australia.
