Annual Meeting Held NORSEWOOD, Last Night. There was a good attendance at the annual meetintr of the Norsewood
Golf Club. It has been decided that •the anxxual meeting would.be a suitable meeting for the drawing-up Of club rules, and also for any suggestions or complaints to be made. Mr H. Stratford, club president, reviewed the club's • operations during the year, and thanked menxbers for electixxg him , president, especially a? he was abserit at the time of the election, and concluded by thanking the previous president .for his good work. . • The secretary, Mrs N: Sc,hwab.e,-read . the teport and. balance sheQt, and both were adopted. . ' " In the general report, it was pointed. out that various competitions were not held, due to the fact that cards were! notr passed in, and thbrefore handicaps could not be given. The president emphasised the necessity of handing "in cards if members wished to partieiate in the various types of games. The election of officers for the ensuing year r esulted Patron, Mr J. Mttrphy (re-elected) ; president, Mr H. Stratford ,re-eleeted) ; vice-president, Mr P. Bennett; club captain, Mr - J. Madson; ladies' . captain, Mrs A. Munro; secretary and freasurer, Mr E. C. Dunn; committee — ^management — the foregoing were elected and Mrs M. Mulholland and Mr A. F. Cullif ord were also added.- ' • !. Mrs L. Schwabe, who has been the secretary , and treastireri -.to the t club since its inception, tendered her resignation owing to her'- impending departure from the district. The meeting cxpressed its deepest regret at losing such a capable and energetic secre-' tary and treasurer as Mrs Schwabe hiad been. Much of the sucee^s of the club^1 was due to her activities. . The matter of ihandicapping was left> In the hands of the .secretary. and thecommittee. Should " any handicap : be' wanted urgeixtly the secretary was empowerfid to allot same and '-it is to ;be confirmed at the next meeting Of the committee. . . The matter, of engaging /tbe gre^nkeeper, and also arranging for the opening day next year, was left to the management committee. ' All approved of ; holding club championships ; next > season, - and * the* hope , was .expressed ithat this, too, might act, as an incentive to some of ■ the less keen members to 'imprqve their play. . , . , •. A vote of thanks was passed to ,the outgOing Officers and committee "f'or their- splendid * work' during' the past -yearr aixd -also- tb Mr J. 'Madson, for lacting;as auditor. . The meeting concluded , by; the, president thanking all "for their assistance and hearty cooperation.'
