Carpenter Proceeds Against Motorist SUPREME COURT HEARING Damages only are to be assessed by tho jury wbicb was enipanelJed for tbe tbe first case heard in the Supreme Court at Napier this morning, upon tbe return of Mr Justice Ostler from Gisborne. Tbe claim is a sequel to an accident at Hastings on May 16, 1937, when a carpenter, Erederick Henry Cradwell was injured by a 6ar dnven by Matthew Ferrick. The defence bnd admifted liability for the accident, "and tbe two parties have come to an agreement regarding the epecial damages leaving general damages only to be fixed. Mr C. W. Nash appears for tho plaintiflr and Mr H. B. Lusk for tbe defendant. Following is the jury: Messrs W. R. Gilbert (foreman), J. Watters, J. Bolesworth, M. Daly, B. C. Hastedt, E. G, Haines, J. McG. Graham, G. A. Sandilands, P. W. Steele, R. Salthouse, A. J. •Jlarke and R. B. Ewen. Mr Nasb said that altbough tbe aculent had occurred six montiis a"- . t - plaintiff still felt pain from a severe sprain of fbe rigbt sboulder. This bad slowed up his work and resulted in a loss of earning power. Evidence was given to tbe Court by several doctors wrio bad examined the pJaintiiT, and by th» plaintiff himialf.
