TOWN-PLANNER'S VISIT
Mr, J. W. Mawson to Advise Hastings Council DEVEL0PING THE BOROUGH Arrangements or a visit to Hastings by Mr J. W. Mawson, town-planning specialist, were made by the Mayor, Mr G. A, Maddison, during his visit to Wellington last week. Mr Maddison said tbis morning that he approached the Department of Internal Affairs witb tbe i,dea of having Mr Mawson visit Hastings to confer witb the council regarding various matters of developmcnt work iji tbe borougb and. tbe department bad consented to tbis course. Tbe lay-out of tbe Oivic Square,, roading arrangements in tbe vfcinity of tbe railway yards, the proposed new sports ground. and other dev61op«icntal work in the borougb will be disoussed with Mr Mawson, who is expected to visit Hastings on Friday week. His eonference witb tbe borougb council will be ia cpmmittee.
