" Signor Mussolini evidently denxands," says tbe Liverpool Post, "that the League of Nations should reeognise not so much the 'birth' of the new Italian Empiro, but that it should record the 'death' of Abyssinia, presumably by expelling Abyssiuia from its couucils. Oue would gather that he considers it is part of oqr duty to see that this is done. But, as a matter of fact, it has already been shown that the League is not disposed in this concern to accept our guidance, even if we offered it. Signor Mussolini must see that the opinion of most of the world is against his action in Abyssinia, and if he is to seeure recognition of the annexation of that country-— and this must come— he has to show that Italy is a better citizen of the world than recent happenings suggest. Another of his declarations is that he will not permit Bolshevism or anything like it in Mediterranean countries. That oafinot have any referenoe to us, of course, but if it means that any country which shows a. tendency to adopt a policy that Signor Mussolini dislikes is liable to be invaded by Italy, as Spain has been, then the. likgUhqgjl g|,Atahiligiiig reTat.iop^ jg not ' '' ~
