WHITE LAME WORN BY A NAPIER BRIDE
BENSO^— REED Beautifully decorated witb palms, flag lilies and cinararias St. Jobn's Catbedral, Napier, was the scene of a very pretty evening wedding on Saturday wben Beatriee Vivinne, onby daugbter of Mr and Mrs J. Eeid, of Clyde Court, Napier, was united in boly matrimony to Jobn William, elder son.of Mr and Mrs J. W, Benson, of Miramar, Wellington. Escorted by ber brotber, Mjr Leo Reid, of Dargaville, tbe bride was a dainty figure in a gown of white lame clotb patterned in silver. Moulding tbe figure to tbe knees, tbe skirt fell gracefully to form a very long train. Tbe corsage, baving a deep square-cut neckline, was prettily sLirred in front and trimmed witb tiny buttons of self material. Tbe back was slashed from the neck to tbe waist line and the sleeves were long and tigbt fitting, forming a poiut over eacfir band. Her lovely veil of embroidered white tulle fell from a coronet of lily-of-the-valley to form anotber train and ber shoes were of silver kid. Sbe carried a beautiful bouquet of lily-of-the-valley finished witb streamers of silver ribbon. Tbe matron of honour, Mrs P. F. Martin, and the bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Brown, of Wellington, wore picture frocks of cyclamen ninon, gored and fitted to tbe knees and flaring prettily to tbe ground. Tbe very fuH bodices were arranged to form a searf effect, being slashed at tbe back, matebing tihe very full -sleeves wbich were slashed from tbe shoulder to tbe elbow and fit. ted tigbtly to tbe wrists. Double taffeta sasbes of deep cyclamen and delpbinium blue wero twisted at the waist, finishing in long ends at the back and turban coils of the same taffetas formed an effeetive beaddress. Tbey carried gbeafs of cyclamen, sweet-peas, cornflowers and iris in shadcs of cyclamen and blue, toning prefectly witb their frocks. Mr Allan Thompson, of Wairoa, carried out the duties of best man and Mr Sydney J. Pattjson, of Wairoa, was tbe groomsman. Dean Brocklehurst officiated at tihe ceremony and Mr#Percy Tombs presided at tbe organ. After tbe ceremony a reception was beld at tbe residence of tbe bride's parents, Mr and Mrs Reid receiving the guests, the latter wearing a smart ensemble of deep saxe matalasse witb a tucked georgette vest of delpbinium blue, and double loops of self material trimmed tbe finger-tip coat witb peaked sleeves. Her sntart !hat tq tone was of balibuntal straw, and sbe carried a bouuet of roses, sweet'' peas and carnations in deep pink tonings. Mrs Benson, tbe bridegroom's'motber, wot6. a lovely gown of satin cloque in tbe new titian rust sbade witb a model bat to tone and ber bouquet of autumn tints was of gerberas, x'oses and autumn leaves tied^witb gold ribbons. Mrs L. W. Reid, of Dargaville, sister. in-law of tbe bride, wore a smart jacket froek of navy taffeta, effectively trimmed witb rucbing and a corsage spray of pink anemones. Her small bat was of navy straw. Wben leaving for the honeymoon tbe bride travelled in a costume of navy taffeta cloque, lacquered in ti,ny leaves. Tbe coat, baving- wide revers, was fitting to tihe waist and flared to the knees. A jabot of embroidered net trimmed tbe white georgette blouse and ber small model bat of navy taffeta flowers was finished witb a smart front bow of navy tafftea. Navy stitcbed sboes, and navy silk gloves witb taffeta gauntlets spotted in white were worn and sbe carried a smart hangbag of navy blue American leatber.
