VANDALS USE PICKS
Tombstones Overturned Ropes and picks, it is thought, were osed by vandals who overturned more than 50 tombstones in tbe buriaf ground of St. Outhbeft's Cburch, Ediiiburgh. Many of tbe stones were broken or damaged, St. Cuthbert's, wbicb stands near Bdinburgb Castle, is one of tbe city's • oldest" cburcbes. Many famous people are buried in the grouudi, including Thomau de Quincey. The majority of tbe tombstones overturned are early 19th century. Some mark the graves of victims of a cbolera epidemie in tbe city.
