Proposed Legislation MR.- SAVAGE'S C0MMENT
, (By Telegraph-
WELLINGTON, This Day. During the present session a good deal has been heard from the Government side of the House about the alleged unfair treatment accorded the Government and Government members by the newspapers. The proposed Iegis*lation to compel the signing of political articles, which, it is stated, will operate from the beginning of the coming year, is the outcome of representations made by members of the Government party for disciplinary action as far as the newspapers are concerned. When asked to eomment on.the proposals dealing with the Press, Mr Savage said the views were '^all guesswork. ' He would prefer not to eomment on the matter. until the whole question was considered by the Government and until legislation was framed, providing, of course, legislation was found necessary. ,
