Abyssinians in Kenya

EUGBY, Nov. 3. About six tkousands Abyssinian ref ugees, including many women and children, tke majority of wkom travelled.Iong distances and suffered severe hardship, are liow in Kenya. ^ Tkis information was given in a Parliamentary answer by tke Colonial Secretary, wko paid a tribute to tke humanitdrian work of the Kenya authorities under difficult conditions in rendering medical and otker aid to tke refugees. Mr Ormaby-Gore declared tkat tkere was no foundation wkatever for a suggestion tkat tke Government of Kenya took action to invite tkese refugees tc tka colony. He added: ''I may mention tkat owing to tke situation of tke camp at Isiolo, tke refugees concentrated there are not in a position to engage in any anti-Italian activities, even if tkey wisked to do so. I cannofc say wkat the futqre of tke refugees will be, but tkey cannofc be accommodated in Kenya, wkere it will be impossible for tkem to maintain tkemselve.s. "
