Monthly Meeting of Committee The monthly meeting of the H.B. Art Gallery and Iluseum committee was held last higf.it, Mr Spence presiding over Mesdames Mitchell and Thompson, Messrs T. Parker, Theakstone, Bestall, Dr. A. G. Clark and Mr C. D. Wlison (secretary). Mrs C. V. Brown (secretary H.B. Art Society), and Mr W. G. Ball (Curator), were also present. Uhe director Teported that a large collection of current and recent postage stamp issues i as been presented to the museum by the Postmastor-ueneral of Canada. Their face value amounts to1 over fifteen dollars, and they were unmounted in groups, of fojir. The formation of a f ull set of' the current issue of the whoie Empire is intended. The Dominion Museum presented a collection of sOme native and exotic birds. Dr. Oliver also sent a pair of huias from . the McLean Collection Which have been properly set up and mounted. This now makes the building of another upright wall-case imperative. The usual wo'ring-bees have been held each Week with the exception of Labour Day. The cuTator reporfced. that attendance' continued good with a record on Labour Day, over 100 visitois being counted in the afternoon. Good work was being done nmongst the shells by _ Master BJian Gibson while Leon Bisley is collecting and mounting insects. Dr. Crompton", on bahalf of the Hastings Borough Council, had deposited a remarkably flne Maori Aute and a small collection of stone implcments.
