After working for 10 years, a pro. fessor at Toronto University has redpced the English language to 1490 words most cortimonly lised. His book sells all over tho world, and has been instrumental in English replacing French as the most generally used language. Baron Cartier de Marchienne, the Belgian Ambassador in London, has presented to the Brussels Mugees Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire the valuablO\ Chineso landscape drawn on silk whieh Dr. Kung, the Ohinese Finance Minister, gave hiin when Dr. Kung was in Eneland for thp Coronation.
