Criticism of Art To-day
PEO ABTE. ;
Sirs,— -Professor J. Shelley's remarkf on "Art To-day," as reported in lasf night 's paper, were rather scathing but' rather true. Modern art does not always offend tbe eye. There are. pictures on view at the Hawke's Bay Far-mers ' tea-room# which would delight the eyes of any one who would wish to see them. Mr Bush makes you see the beauty of local and New Zealand scenery without dis* torting the beauties of nature. They are a joy to see after ultra-moderni wnrlr.— - Vnnra Af(»
