Sirs,— -Professor J. Shelley's remarkf on "Art To-day," as reported in lasf night 's paper, were rather scathing but' rather true. Modern art does not always offend tbe eye. There are. pictures on view at the Hawke's Bay Far-mers ' tea-room# which would delight the eyes of any one who would wish to see them.
