PROCESSION IN NAPIER

Fifty-four effigies of the late lamented Guy Eawkes were entered in the annual competition held in Napier last evening. A long pro. ssion, head by the Napier Technical Band, wended itfc way from Clive Square to the Marine Parade where the judging was ,held, and prizes awarded for the best guys. The judge, Mr Arnold C. Wright, placed the entries as follows: John Reid 1, Gordon Dann 2, Joyce Hamilton 3, and Rex Lane 4. All the other competitors were presented with fireworks donated by Chisholm and Co., Ltd., Napier.
