The New Zealand Cup meeting opens to-morrow at Riccarton when the' most important raees are the Cup, Stewards and the Welcome Stakes. On Monday the chief items will be the Pendaltcn and the Derby, on Wednesday the Jockey Club Handicap, Canterbury Cup and the Oaks, "while on the concluding day, Saturday, November 13, the Metropolitan and the Members' Handicaps will create most interest. Hawke 's Bay stables will be- represented by John Charles, Lady Chat, I Hunting Cat, Gay Son, Ben Braggie. 'Brunhilde, Big Dook, Black Thread and Rakahanga. The latter two ure not in the first day, but will race later at the meeting. The following may carry most money in- their races: — •. SPRING BRUSH HURDLES. — Travenna, Red Sun and Superex.
