. MELBOtJRNE, Nov. 4. : The weather was warm and there was a large atteridance at the Flemington races. f St. Fox, prominent throughout, won the hurdles comfortably. He is owned and trained in Adelaide. Pandava led always in the Mooro Stake's. He has scored two wins in three starts and is trained by the New ' Zealander, George Price. Ajax led fhroughout in the Liniithgow Stakes. Young Idea beat King's Head in the last stride. Ajax is entitled to be rated the best middle distance performer seen in recent years, Sackville surpriSed, finishing strongly to win the Carnival Handicap, his first success. Pantoon ran a good race and was beaten in the last few strides. Royal Order and Only One were never . dangerous, j Prairie Moon had a comfortable win 1 in the Oaks, Ortelle 's Star ran a game I race and Ena finished well after inter- | ference near the mile.
