Mr. Trevena, Otane, Going To Wellington

OTANE, Last Night. Beforo his departure for Northland, Wellington^ Mr Trevena, who has been headmaster of the Otane Sehool for the past six years, was farewelled at a large gathering of parents, pupils and committee members. Mrs Trevena, who was also present, was presented with a beauuful bouquet of choice flowers by little Jill Neaion. Mr A. E. Black, chairman, expressed the regret that all felt at Mr Trevena 's departure, and in asking him to accept a cheque as a small token of the esteem in which he was held, wished him and the members of his family every happiness and success in the future. Mr McWha, on behalf of the teaching staff spoke of the harmonious relations that' had always existed between the headmaster and staff, and extended their best wishes for his future. Mr Trevena, who was accorded musical honours, brielly expressed his thanks for the kind wishes and gift, and also for the many kindnesses Teeeived ' by Mrs Trevena and himself while resident in Otane. After hearty cheers had been given, Mr Trevena gave the children a last lollie scramble," much to their enjoyment, and later he and Mrs Trevena were entertained at afternoon tea by the teaching staff.
