A yearly cfop of more than. 300 tons of huinau hair may be harvested in Germany, if plans of goveinnient experts in charge of eonservation of. raw materials are put into effect. Experi nients have shown that hairs as short as ono-third of an inch cant be mixed with other fibres and used for carpets, roofing felt, and similar -materials. Such hair is now thrown away in barber shops, and in the effort to make the country self-sufficientrit is suggested that barbers bc required to save this material so it will be available for industrial use.
