Quality Gisborne Entry On Offer YARDING OF 180 HEAD .Quality was in , the . f oref ront in tho fat cattle offering at Stortf ord Lodge sale- to-day when an exceptional draft of heavy ox beef -ifrom the , , Gisborne district was offered. The , draft which was an account of Hair' Bros..' Gisborne, consisted of '80 extra prime heavy bullocks and three extra • heavy prime' cows, which were the .finest quality for a large ! entry that has ever been penned in the yar.ds. * Fif ty per cent. of ■ the offering consisted of .entries at. the Gisborne Show last week'. Divided into twen'ty pens there was no tailing-;off . in quality or finish'and butche'rs were' offered a rare opportunity of ; selection "for ( choice beef. ' ." v The excellent condition of - the cattle reflected the splendid ', season experi-' enced in Poverty Bay. The top price was £16 10/- for a bullock which would kill out at about 1050* Ibs. - The draft ranged from £13 • 10/- to £16 , 10/- and averaged £15 2/6. Competition was limited.,, in the earlier stages and . the values ranged made about 35/6 per 100 ,lbs. Later in the selling additional competition accounted for . an improvement - in values by f ully 2/- , per , 100 lb., the "concluding pens making at* least '37/6'- per 100 lb.
