Novel Bridal Train.
An apron train is an unusual feature of an English society bride, Miss 'Elizabeth Coates, on July 15, and as it has its practical points, it will probably be copied by many other brides this season. The train, which is nearly three yards long, is quite separate from the wedding gown and fastened on at the back with the joining point hidden under a belt of the same material. Have a train of this kind, and your bridal dress can be turned into an ordinary evening frock after the event without any troublesome aiterations. • Wild Flowers for Bride. Wild flowers, by the way, are not being despised by this suinmer's brides and bouquets of com, poppy and cornflowers are gaining as much favour as the once inevitable carnations and roses at weddings. These field flowers are also much in demanu in . fashionable homes when there is entertaining. The more homely varieties of garden blooms are also having a vogue. Nastnrtiums, sunflowers,' dephiniums and loves-lies-bleeding, mixed with long grasses, make colourful groups in large bov/ls and tall urns. Five Salt Uses. heavy nourishing cream has a tendency 'to aggravate the open pore and blackhead condition. Red spots frequently appear on nose and chin in the thin, sensitive skinned ' type. Dietetic errors, imperfect cleansing of the skin, or the use of unsuitable cosmetics may be the cause. Where there is marked wrinkling or flabbiness, breathing and facial exercises will assist in repairing wasted tissues. The day should be started with about five minutes of deep breathing at an open window. When sufficient oxygen is taken into the system all body cells are stimtilated to normal natural action. Correct deep breathing causes a forced action of the blood; sending it to the farthermost cells of "all the tissues, the red corpuscles carrying oxygen to help in rebuilding the worn-out cells. .The exercises should be taken slowly at first, and stopped for a short time if a ieeling of, giddiness is experienced. Inhaling larger amounts of oxygen than one is accustomed to over-stimu-lates temporarily and produces dizziness. The following exercise will develop the sunken tissue of hollow cheeks: — Fold the arms behind the back under the shoulder blades, and with" the head thrown back blow at an imaginary object. , Another splendid method * of building up the throat, chin and cheek areas is the "vowel singing exercise." The five vowels are sung on each note of the scale, stressing and exaggerating the' vowel sounds and holding each one while mentally counting five. Look in a mirror and watch the play on the muscles.
