DUNEDIN, Last Night. The death occurred at the Hanmer Hospital yesterday of Dr. H. D. Hayes, aged 38, medical superintendent of the Seacliff Mental Hospital. . Born and educated in Edinburgh, his ' career was interrupted by the war, in which he served with . the Royal Air Force. Later he was associated with the London County Council mental hospital service. • • -. » .. He came to New Zealand in 1927 as superintendent at Porirua aud was later at the Nelson and" Hokitika mental hospiials, coming to Seacliff five years ago. He had a serious illness in 1930 from which he never fully recovered. This final illness attacked him six weeks ago. He leaves a wife and tlirep children.
