Apiary Instructor's Lecture Hawke's Bay Leekeepers recently atlended a lecture on tlie metkods of recording apiary work whicli was delivered in Hastings by Mr L. Riesterer, apiary instructor, Department of Agriculture, Hastings. Mr Riesterer said that complete re-' corda of queen-rearing and of individual hives in the apiary enabled the beef kcoper to work to a system and tended to improve apiary management. He explained the metifods of recording apiary work and stressed the- nec^ssity for keeping a proper record of each hive in respect to the age and quality of queens, hive stores, and surplus honey. It was almost impossible to conduct an apiary on commereial lines uniess the beekeeper takes notes at each examination. Beekeepers wero reminded that a field day would be lield at Mr Ashsoft's apiary, Havelock North, on November 0. The meeting elosed with a voto of thanks to Mr Reisteror.
