PIGEON RACING
Hastings Homing Club , The Hastings Homing Club flew their second race from Petone on Saturday against a head-'wind. . The birds were liberated by Mr W. Bolton at Petone atA10 a.m.,-Mr L. Harrisoh being the most successful flier. This s^eason, in four races, he has won four - iirsts, two seconds and two thirds with the old strain known to all fanciers' a's the Sunspot strain. Moonbeam, bred by Mr A. B. "Hixon, was the first bird of this strain; He won three Dunedin races, aiid Golden Kod, Sunshine, Spotlight, Sunrise, Moonlight and Gallant Lady were all bred from the same strain. Eesults: L. Harrison's b.c. cock (Surprise), 102'7.7yds per min., - 1; L. Smith's b.c. cock (Eanger), 1027.1yds., per min., 2; A. Harrison's b.c. cock (Try Out), 1025.7yds. per min., 3; C. Martin's b.c. cock (No. 165), 1025.1yds, per min, 4. Time, 4hrs. 20min. 25secs. Other lofts eompeting were: H. McKain and W. B. Wallace.
