AUCKLAND, Last Night. The final of the New Zealand wrestling championship was decided on Saturday evening when "Lofty" Blomfield, of Auckland, defeated Joe Woods, of America, by two falls to one. The winner thus earned .the riglit of proeeeding to America for a match against Bronco Nagurski, holder of the world 's title. .The three falls were all suhmissiononesi The lirst was gained by Woods in the fourth round by rneans oi a Boston crab. This had been preceded by a series of fore-arm jolts. There was a further exchange of- powerful fore-arm jolting in the seventh round before Blomfield obtained s reverso toehold which he. converted into an octopus clamp. Woods refused to givO in for several Seconds and after lie did so he had to be assisted to his corner, where his second massaged his yib tauscles. Woods limped out . when the gong sounded for the flnal round. He was subjeeted to another barrage of jolts before being tripped preparatory to the application of a second octopus ?lamp.
