New Band Uniforms. At the end of January, the Waipukurau' Municipa! Land will be ready to turn out resplendent in new uniforms. Of three tenders received for the 30 'uniforms required, that of Mr H. Gair has been accepted, and the uniforms are to be made to the bandsmen's individual measurements and delivered by January 31, 1938. Of specially woven cloth, the tunics ari* to he in lancer style, maroon with silver lacings. l^ivy blue trousers will complete au outlit designed to givu both smartness and service. Pupils Visit Dairy Factory. On Friday a party of about 35 Waipawa District High School pupils paid their aunual visit to the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Co's Waipukurau factory. The local ice-cream factory was also visited. The pupils were in charge of Miss M. McDonald, M.Sc., and were accoinpanied by Mr E. C. Hurdsfield, agricultural instructor. Vital Statistics. The vital statistics for Waipukurau for the month of October are as follows (tlie ligures for the correspouding month of last year being shown in parentheses) : Birtlis, 5 (8), Deaths 4 (6), Marriages 3 (1). 'Varsity Exams. The New Zealaild University examiuations, in a variety of degree and other subjects, are to be conducted in gt. Mary's Hall, Waipukurau, from to-day to November 19. This year there are 22 local candidates.
