Co-starred in "The Good Earth" are PauJ Muni and Luise Rainer. In 1936, both won the individual acting awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Together. their periormances dety equal. Briehy, this picture teJls the story of a man's battle for sustenance from the soil, with his wife beside hiiu. Wang (portrayed by Paul Muni) is a farmer. With his wile O'Lan (Luise Rainer) he rears his family despitp the cruel sethacbs from Nature, and the man-inade strife of a bloody revolution. His struggle for existence, and ultimate aequisition of riches, may be tlie ijarallel of any oue of us here to-day. In the siruplieity of "The Good Earth" in its application to every man lxes the secret of its greatness.
