Liners Held Up in Stream TWO NOTIFIABLE CASES

AUCKLAND, Last Night. j Each possessing a case of notifiable siekness "aboard, the liners Orion and Maripo'sa were obliged to anchor in fhe stream to await the granting r)f medical' pratique upon their arrival at Auckland: from Brisbane and San Francisco respectively to-day. With both flying the., yellow quarantiue flag, they were a. source of conjecture on the waterfront until permission to berth was granted by. the port health officer. Only slight delay was caused in the case of the Mariposa, which was temporarily quarantined on account of her possessing a case of chickenpox. The patieht, ' who was a young Auckland girl, and her mother, were placed in isolation shortly after the tessel left Honolulu, and it was found unnepesgary to postpone berthing.
