Sir, — As one of those who has given, over a long period of years, ljoyalty, energy and devotion to th© movement that resulted in Mr Christie ;s return to Parliament at last election, I am very mueh intere3ted to read Mr Bibby's deelaration that Socialism is the enemy of trqe democracy. I believe Mr Bibby to be stating his honest convxction and, in that belief, I am willing to promiso Mr Bibby that, if he can prove to me that Socialism and true democracy are not absolutely identical as practised and propounded by the Labour Party of New Zealand, I will join him in opposing as wholeheartedly as at this moment I am m support of that party, Mj- Bibby would have us return to dominanc.e by "sound finance," which means that, if that part of our production, which. is in excess of domestic necds, finds what is called a poor market overseas then our children must starve, our wives must beg for cast-off clo thing, while able-bodied* men are harnessed to pull farm implements for production of food that must b© destroyed for the preservation of our markets, I believe that by having Parliament put over the air the present administration has made a tremendous move 10 lift politics on to a high plane, M only wlien the ordinary individual has learned to listen, to confeider and to j
