War Office Appointment
(Eeceived 29, a.4o a.m.) ' ETTGBY, Oct. pS. Colouel Sir John Brown has been appointed deputy-Director-Genoral of tho Territorial Army at the War Office in accordance with the organisation foreshadowed by the War Minister, Mr L. Hore.Belisha, to provide for the new iraportanee of tho Territorial Army in the scheme of national defence. Sir John Brown has been granted the rank of major-general the first to be gnzetted in the Territorial Army since During the Grcat War he served on Gallipoli, and in Egypt and Palestine, first as an adjutaiit and afterwards commanding the Fourth Territorial Battalion of the Northamptonshire Eegi ment.
