BETTING INCREASE
Week-End Meetings TRENTHAM'S BIG TOTAL The total amount speculated at racing and trotting meetings in the Dominion since Thursday of last week, when the Wellington Racing Club opened their spring fixture, was £374,091, compared with £317,859 at the corresponding fixture last seaeon. This is an increase of £56,232. ' Eight clubs held meetings^ totalling 13 days, five of which were purely trotting fixtures, while -on the programmes of . twp racing clubs there were two trotting events each day. The sum put through galloping fixturea totalled £255,821, compaTed with £214,114, while the turnover at trotting fixtures aggregated £118,270 10/-, against £103,744 10/- at the same meetings last year.
